YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP)—Terrance Blevins ran for a career-high 176 yards and scored two touchdowns as Eastern Michigan shut out Indiana State 52-0 on Thursday night.

Blevins scored on runs of 4 and 61 yards for the Eagles (1-0), who tallied 637 yards of total offense. Indiana State (0-1) has lost 15 straight games, extending back to 2006.

Eastern Michigan led 28-0 at halftime after quarterback Andy Schmitt connected with Tyler Jones on a 14-yard touchdown pass and Dwayne Priest scored on a 2-yard run. Priest scored for the second time late in the third quarter on a 1-yard run, extending the Eagles’ lead to 42-0.

Indiana State, playing its first game under new head coach Trent Miles, put together only one serious scoring drive. The Sycamores drove to the Eastern Michigan 8-yard line in the final minute of the first half, but Braulio Martinez’s 25-yard field goal was blocked.

Indiana State registered 132 yards of total offense and played without starting quarterback Charles Dowdell, who served a one-game suspension after breaking an undisclosed team rule. In his absence, Matt Seliger and Calvin Schmidtke combined to complete 7-of-22 passes for 49 yards.

Schmidtke threw three interceptions. Darrius Gates ran for 61 yards on 10 carries for Indiana State.

Jason Williams, Eastern Michigan’s third-string quarterback, finished off the Eagles’ scoring with a 19-yard touchdown run with 2:37 remaining.
