ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP)—DeShawn Baker rushed for one touchdown and caught a 29-yard pass for another to help South Carolina State to a 47-10 victory over Norfolk State in Mid-Eastern Athletic conference action Saturday.
Baker had 17 carries for 128 yards and a touchdown to lead the Bulldogs (2-3, 1-1 MEAC) in rushes, while William Ford had 6 carries for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Cleveland McCoy completed 6-of-13 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns and Gerald McCloud added four catches for 103 yards and a touchdown for South Carolina State.
The Spartans (3-2, 1-2) cut the Bulldogs’ lead 33-10 off a 76-yard punt return by Emery Sammons with 0:59 left in the third quarter.
Sammons caught two passes for 33 yards for Norfolk State while Casey Hansen went 11-of-29 for 113 yards.
