Every Monday, Yahoo! Sports selects three players for the College Football Athlete of the Week. The candidates include: A quarterback who ended his team’s losing streak in huge fashion, a running back who trampled an in-state rival and a wide receiver who made sure his team remained unbeaten and in the national title hunt.

Joe Ganz
should be this week's player of the week.
Here's why:
The Nebraska junior quarterback played in place of Sam Keller for the second time and enjoyed a whopping statistical day. Ganz completed 30 of 40 passes for 510 yards and seven touchdowns as the Cornhuskers pounded Kansas State 73-31. He set school records for yardage and TDs as the 'Huskers scored on 11 consecutive possessions. "The guys are just sick about hearing how bad we are," Ganz said of 5-6 Nebraska, which was shelled by Kansas 76-39 a week earlier. "We just came out and unleashed."

Chauncey Washington
should be this week's player of the week.
Here's why:
The USC senior running back enjoyed much success on the ground, carrying 29 times for 220 yards and a touchdown in the Trojans' 24-17 victory over Cal. It was by far the best performance of his star-crosssed career. A steady rain did little to slow Washington against the Golden Bears' vaunted defense. "We changed our gameplan a lot," Washington said. "This morning, when we had our walkthrough, they said it was going to rain, so we were going to pound the ball tonight."

Marcus Henry
should be this week's player of the week.
Here's why:
The Kansas senior wide receiver put on a show for a national TV audience, catching eight passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns in the Jayhawks' 43-28 victory over Oklahoma State. With the win, KU improved to 10-0 and remained very much in contention for a BCS bowl berth and the national championship. An Oklahoma native and lightly regarded recruit, Henry thrived in Stillwater. "Our whole team has been overlooked," he said. "For us to be performing as good as we can, it's pretty good."
