PI Postgame: VT 16 - ECU 3

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Virginia Tech freshman running back Ryan Williams rushed for a season-high 179 yards as No. 22 Virginia Tech held off East Carolina 16-3 in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Thursday night on ESPN.

Several players for ECU were injured and will likely be out for the rest of the season including tight end Rob Kass who tore an MCL in his knee, defensive back Dakota Marshall who suffered a major injury as well as an injury to defensive lineman Josh Smith.

Turnovers and missed opportunities were the order of the day as the Pirates were never able to really get into a rhythm offensively.

ECU falls to 5-4 while Virginia Tech improved to 6-3 with the victory.
