Warhawks mounting come back, down at half
The unofficial Sun Belt Championship game has been a mix of tricks and treats on the Warhawk as the have managed to out gain the Trojans with 224 yards¸ but find themselves on the short end of a 21 - 14 halftime score.
Troy wasted no time as they built a quick 14-0 lead on quick two minute drives. Freshman running back DuJuan Harris rushed in from 2-yards outs to cap off a fast seven play, 60-yard drive following the opening kick off. Troy’s defense would then hold ULM to three and out.
Trojan qb Levi Brown would then connect with receiver Josh Jarboe for a 17 yard strike to extend the Troy lead to 14-0.
The Warhawk defense would then hold Troy to a series of three and out possessions and just seven yards of total offense.
Cody Wells led the Warhawks to their first score, connecting with Darrell McNeal for the 7-yard score, cutting the deficit to 14-7.
Brown would go deep to again put Troy up by a pair of scores hitting Chip Reeves for a 33 yard Trojan score.
Troy looked to be running away with the game, but Wells orchestrated a five play, 33-yard drive in just 29 seconds to pull ULM back to with seven. Setting up the Alvin Jordan 3-yard score, was a great full extension reception by LaGregory Sapp for 30-yards.
