A Halloween trick
EVANSTON—For a half, it looked like Northwestern might give its fans a Halloween treat. But Penn State turned the trick in the second half, scoring 24 unanswered points to post a 34-13 win.
Northwestern got the better of the 12th-ranked Nittany Lions in the first half and built a 13-10 halftime lead, but a second-quarter injury to Mike Kafka proved fatal to the offense as the Wildcats were shut out over the final two quarters while Penn State scored three touchdowns within 3:40 in the fourth period to pull away.
