| THE COACHES |

| Middle Tennessee head coach Rick Stockstill is in his fourth season with the Blue Raiders and this will be his third matchup against Western Kentucky. He is 1-1 against the Toppers with the win coming last year in Bowling Green following a home loss to WKU in 2007. Stockstill is 14-9 in Sun Belt games during his tenure. WKU head coach David Elson is in his seventh season as WKU head coach and holds a 39-38 overall record. Elson has served on the staff at WKU in some capacity since 1996 and was the defensive coordinator on the Toppers’ 2002 NCAA Division 1-AA national championship team. Elson’s tenure at WKU has hit a rough patch with the program’s move to FBS football. WKU has lost 14 straight games and hasn’t beaten an FBS opponent since 2007. |
