Oklahoma DT Granger denied medical hardship waiver
NORMAN, Okla. (AP)—The NCAA has denied a request from Oklahoma defensive tackle Demarcus Granger for a medical hardship waiver that would allow him to play another season.
Sooners coach Bob Stoops said Tuesday that Granger’s request for a fifth year of eligibility had been turned down.
A former starter, Granger had surgery on his lower back in December. He’s said he was born with a condition that didn’t allow enough room for the nerves in his lower back, and a surgeon had to scrape some bone away to relieve the pain.
Granger started 11 games for Oklahoma in 2007 before playing as a reserve last year.
The 22nd-ranked Sooners host Kansas State on Saturday.

but granting a 5th year, no way," Awwww poor RyanM is jealous of USC's 11 National Titles and 7 Heisman trophy winners? Really buddy the Bush thing is over so stop bringing it up and if you really want to look into things every D-1 school has problems of some type. Oklahoma State with Dez Bryant, OU with the lineman who played semi-pro football, you had a Texas starting D-lineman who drove into an Apt building this summer because he was texting while driving! Look around buddy before you start crying. I think OU will be fine without this guy and I bet they somehow get back to the Big 12 title game. Watch OSU beat Texas then OU beat OSU.
