More injuries for Miami: Moncur, Armstrong out

  • Print

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP)—Running back Javarris James, defensive end Eric Moncur and safety Ray Ray Armstrong all have been ruled out of No. 18 Miami’s game at Wake Forest on Saturday.

The school listed all three injuries as “lower extremity.” It’s more of the same for Miami, which has not had its first-string defense together for any game this season.

Matt Bosher—who will handle kickoffs, in addition to placekicking and punting—is listed as probable because of an undisclosed illness. The school also confirmed that linebacker Sean Spence (knee) has been ruled out for the week.

    54. Bill F -

To be a big time program, you have to have fans? Is that was you call the high class refuse that routinely pukes over the railings at SEC games, doesn't have a life when football season is over, or has a grade point average and graduation rate only slightly higher than your gridiron heroes - the ones that can't find a job if they don't make it to the NFL...?

Oh, and apparently you have to play cupcakes to be an SEC 'real team'. Let's look at that strength of schedule from Sagarin, shall we?

    1 Florida ( 39)
    2 Alabama ( 27)
    9/12 LSU ( 26)
    18/15 Miami-Florida ( 3)

Hmm... I'm detecting a pattern here... maybe you're forgetting Miami's a private school, too.

Oh, and for good measure - your vaunted conference isn't even the top rated:

    Conference rankings:

    1 PAC-10 (A) = 79.64 79.27 ( 1) 10
    2 SOUTHEASTERN (A) = 78.97 79.04 ( 2) 12
    3 ATLANTIC COAST (A) = 75.16 75.32 ( 3) 12

Look up those numbers, smarmy boy. And do some research before you run your mouth next time.

To be a big time program begins with fans. Miami has few. they can't draw flies to most of their home games. And you won't be back. Teams like Ga Tech, Clemson, Va Tech, FSU and UNC will make certain that you won't dominate the ACC like you once did the patehtic Big east. Funny, when you are on the road you seem to lose frequently now. And you can hardly talk about coming back when you can't beat Clemson at home.

Too bad you are not in the SEC. But that conference is reserved for real teams. Even though you are a Miami fan try to think for a moment. What do Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn and Kentucky and South Carolina mean if played? A lot of losses and serious abuse!!

Florida is a more corrupt program as is Florida St than the U, U just has a bad rap because it has swagger and guys who talk a lot of junk, talking s.hit and being wild does not mean your a bad person and have a dirty program. Its all about the U, U football invented swagger.

This Canes team will come back next year with something to prove. Remember most of these guys are true Sophomores. Canes run the table next year and re-establish themselves at the top of College Football which is they're rightful place.

#35 your a nimrod florida has just 3 lousy titles in over 100 years, Miami has won 5 and played for 9 on the last three decades. Also the fact that for nine seasons, during the change of 3 presidents, facing 16 # 1 ranked opponents, 58 straight games were won in the Orange Bowl, which is an NCAA record, the gay tours haven't went 2 seasons without losing at home. We have went 34-0, which was only topped in the 1940's. We are the only team to hold a winning record against Florida and Florida State, Two much larger schools. The main thing is Florida could never recruit, Miami has 4 times the amount of first round picks as Florida, and 3 times as many total players in the NFL. We hold the record for total first round picks, and consecutive years with first round picks. All of these stats are something the Canes have over the whole country, and something that can never be taken away. So we slipped for a few years under Coker we'll be back.

All of these injuries at Miami are really a mystery. Until it is solved, you probably want to keep A-Rod away from the training room, in spite of his multi-million dollar donations to the university. One has to wonder if he has been providing training "tips" to the athletes on top of all the money he has been giving.

I don't believe Miami is "back" yet but I admire the heck out of Shannon for what he's trying to do with the kids he coaches...Is he a good coach? I dunno but he's definitely a good man...if he goes down as the coach at Miami, it wont be hard for him to find another gig...Personally, I hope he succeeds...and I'm not even a Canes fan...ROOOLLLL TIDE!!!

I wonder if there is such a thing as an All Conference injury list. All Miami needs is a QB on it.

VaTech goes down tonight. Unbeleivable. Miami better beware. Va and UNC will give them fits.

#33, hey nimrod, I guess 2 Florida Titles in 3 years is not as good as in 3 decades? Miami is still mediocre and is a has been program. They have been quite average since the program got cleaned up. LMAO

John B. you can't be a real Canes fan, because if you were you would be like the rest of us true Cane fans. A true Canes fan haven't been waiting to long because we were just in the national championship game 5years ago and won it 6 years ago. Now after changing coaches and coordinators we must be patient and allow the process to come full circle. Randy is recruiting very well and we must allow him to get his philosophy and scheme in place. Besides what other program in the nation can say they have won and played in 2 national title games in the past 3 decades (80's 90's 2000's) . Not Usc, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, Penn State, Florida State, or Nebraska. But the U baby. Just thought I would remind the real Cane fans that!
