LSU loses injured RB Scott for regular season
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP)—LSU running back Charles Scott has a fractured collarbone and will miss the rest of the regular season.
LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette announced the injury Sunday. Scott was injured in the second half of the Tigers’ 24-15 loss to Alabama on Saturday.
Scott leads the No. 9 LSU in rushing with 542 yards and four touchdowns. He had 83 yards on 13 carries against Alabama before getting hurt while being tackled on a long run.

That said, Les blew it again - coaching scared. Called timeout on a 4th and 1 that LSU had already
made on a fast count, allowed the defense to get set up after the timeout, had to punt, and Julio Jones gets a touchdown when LSU would have still had the ball. No huddle offense doesn't work with a scared coach - just let the boys play Les!! You're scared of Jefferson's instincts, but his instincts have been proven right all season. He wanted to run when Les wanted him to stay in the pocket, so we took sacks we couldn't afford. Les wanted to pass in past games when Jefferson saw that Charles SCott had an opportunity. The boy knows how to play - so stop slowing him down!
The defnsive coaching has been even more scared. Trying to play it safe against big offensive plays by showing a weak pas rush is a self fulfilling prophecy - the D will get burned by big plays. Same problem as prevent defense - you prevent winning. Saban was a wiser, nore aggressive coach - both at LSU and at Bama - defensively. Immediate pressure causes rushed passes if not turnovers, and the defense can score as often as the offense with the right scheme. LSU's D has enough speed to cause havoc if you disguise the coverage better. Anybody can see the holes in LSU's D when they play zone - all LSU can do is watch receivers catch passes when players aren't allowed to use their speed.
The refs blew the late interception call badly. The rear view of the play shows the right foot narrowly staying inbounds after the interception, and the side view shows the interception occurring as the left foot started to lift before the right foot comes down. Officiating the big calls sucks again - but who's surprised? Even replay can't help the blind. Most of the game was called well, but officials have to make the right call when replay is used and the announcers and fans can see that the call is bad.

The ball only has to break the plane of the end zone, which it did. The player does not have to actually touch the ground in the end zone. Result: TD Bama.

The int call was wrong imo, as many others....but, I really don't think i would have made a difference in the outcome of the game....LSU just wasn't moving the ball against Bamas' D. I wish they would have given him the call, at least we wouldn't be having to hear about how it "robbed" them of a win.
People obviously forget that LSU still would have had to run 69 yards after the int for a touchdown....the fact they were held to only 9 yards in the fourth, tells me it was highly unlikely. Also, Alabama had possession of the ball for 11 minutes of 15 in the 4th, so that doesn't really leave much possession time for LSU to do much scoring. LSU played a really good game...they were the team I was dreading on our schedule, and as usual, it was a very physical game.
There were plenty of calls that were missed that Bama would have benefited from and seceral that hurt Bama as well, but those get overshadowed due to the int. call. Always bad calls in games, you just notice and never forget the ones that you feel "cost" you the game.
