Green gets start at quarterback for Nebraska

WACO, Texas (AP)—Nebraska is turning to a new quarterback in hopes of breaking out of its offensive doldrums.

Freshman Cody Green replaced incumbent Zac Lee and made his first career start at quarterback for the Cornhuskers against Baylor on Saturday.

Coach Bo Pelini promised changes on offense after the Huskers scored a combined 17 points in consecutive home losses to Texas Tech and Iowa State.

Lee, a junior, started the first seven games, throwing for 1,466 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Green had thrown for two touchdowns and ran for two other scores in four games off the bench. The freshman is from Dayton, Texas, which is just outside of Houston and about 200 miles southeast of Waco.

Green will bring the option back to Big Red then the offense will be the same as the old days.

Green didn't look much better than Lee. They lack offensive talent in a BIG RED way as well as injuries. The could start Teblow and their offense would still suck.

LOL Texas fans as stupid as ever, and still the worst fans of all college football, yet another one on a board where he doesn't belong.

The Huskers are irrelevant this year, a mere shadow of their former selves. Make whatever changes you like on the horrible Husker "O", it'll take years before they're back in shape. And Horse M, which should be Horse's A$$, A&M sucks horribly again this year and will get the crap kicked out of them by Texas come day after Thanksgiving, after which, the Aggies will watch on TV as Texas plays once again on New Year's Day or after. Get used to it. You can sit on that Aggie thumb now!

Nebraska doesn't play Texas this year, moron.

I normally don't go against big 12 teams in bowl games, but after everything I have seen this year in comments from STUPID texas fans, I am going to laugh when Texas gets into a game with a big time SEC team and gets completely destroyed.

    KUFF TEXAS, GIG THIS

Finally!! One game too late but Green will spark the huskers...His ability to make plays with his legs will add much needed athleticism to the offense. That will also open up lanes for our RBs. Huskers rebound to finish 5-0 down the stretch...Go Big Red.
