I would wholeheartedly endorse Clay Travis' call to boycott the BCS' principle sponsors this bowl season, if I thought it was allowed to sign on to a boycott of products one doesn't buy in the first place. Honestly, Tostitos are fine, but tortilla chips are a dime a dozen; no, scratch that, they're like half a cent per dozen, a peso per dozen, and there's no reason to go upscale with it.

So even in my most vulnerable area, junk food, I can honestly say, though the thought of a boycott hasn't crossed my mind, I have not knowingly purchased a product from a major BCS sponsor -- AllState, FedEx, Tostitos and Citi (which isn't doing so hot, anyway) -- in the last calendar year. Call it an accidental boycott. And don't hold me to the web of subsidiaries that no doubt links all four behemoth companies to every product I buy; the victory might be accidental, but as far as raging against the machine goes, it's all I have.

They seem to be doing just fine without my business. But Clay's rage-inspired reasoning is sound, there is a Facebook petition with a few dozen members and more companies will be added to the hit list when their commercials show up during the games in January (networks don't release sponsors ahead of the events). If your hatred of the BCS is that strong, you owe it to yourself to sign on. Do your duty, comrade.

That boycott site is hi-larious I tell ya.
Even though I do think that Texas was the logical choice to represent the Big XII South, they didn't get screwed. They were eliminated by the rules that they agreed to. Life's hard, wear a cup.
As far as getting "screwed" out of the BCS... again take it up with your conference.

I'd like to boycott Citi but I think they'd get angry if I stopped sending them student loan payments every month :(

Well they shouldn't concern themselves with your student loans since we collectively gave them 700 billion dollars. You would think after that nice gift they could cut a deal to wipe everyone's credit slate clean. Oh and Texas did get screwed by the retarded nature of college football. If the "decision" makers, whomever they may be, sportswriters, coaches, computers, musicians, aliens, god, Castro, would have paid attention to the result that occurred on the field then Texas goes to the championship game. But, since they instead tried to make a decision based on the result with Texas Tech, who also finished with only one loss against the number one team in the country (Texas in case you didn't know), then you should also take in to account how the games went down. Texas lost to a very good Tech team that plays everyone difficult when they are at home (ask OU about playing in Lubbock last year or four years before that) on a last second touchdown that was allowed because of a fluke drop on an interception by Blake Gideon one play earlier that would have ended the game. OU did indeed play well against Tech, OSU, and Mizzou two of whom Texas beat on in successive weeks, after beating Oklahoma by ten points a week before Mizzou and two before OSU. Not to mention that if Texas had beaten tech they would have been the first team to ever win over that many teams ranked in the top eleven. instead they just tied the record with three wins over top eleven teams. So why does Tech fall below Florida Texas r OregoUSC and get completely eliminated from any discussion? Surely the loss to Ole miss is worse than a loss to OU at home, or that powerhouse oregon state. But they are eliminated because of a head to head system, novel, not their other wins against other a common opponent. If you take out Tech for head to head result how can somebody justify putting OU into the big 12 championship based on the on field outcome in October at a completely neutral site when they played each other? So moral of the story everyone gets screwed when they don't have a playoff.
