Even the Charlie Weis haters among Notre Dame fans haven't had much reason for complaint through the first two months as far as the Weis "hot seat" watch goes: The Irish were on track for 10 wins, showed a penchant for winning close, exciting games with one of the nation's most prolific offenses, were 11 combined points from beating Michigan and USC in their only two losses and ended their losing streak against winning teams by beating Boston College. All in all, a perfectly respectable year.

But still ...

Now that the Irish have lost to Navy for the second time in three years -- both in South Bend after beating the Midshipmen 43 years in a row in any location -- and forfeited any realistic opportunity at slipping into a BCS bowl, the next three games against Pittsburgh, UConn and Stanford (combined record: 18-8) may be a referendum for Weis' job. If ND drops any of them, this kid's going to have some company (again).

    I hope Charlie wins the rest of the games and never leaves ND. America loves laughing at ND. They're like the fat girl who thinks she pretty.

    A Chuck should be on the hot seat. Here's a coach who is so out of touch with reality that he thinks his team will make a run for BCS glory? He has not a clue. ND lost to the only currently ranked team, USC (who is slightly better than average in the Pac) and Michigan who is soon to be 10th in their conference! Now, a loss to Navy.
    Chuck, what happen to 'one game at a time' and 'the only game that counts is the game we are playing this week'? Your talk of BCS glory devastated your team.
    You better start prep for Stanford and Pitt - who look to seriously destroy you and that terrible excuse for a defense that you call a BCS defense!!

    Weis is in trouble if ND loses even one of it's remaining games ? I got news for you ND fans. Pitt and Stanford are pretty good teams and UConn is no creampuff. ND may be LUCKY to win just one of those games.

    Charlie Weiss is a class act. He unfortunately is a bit over his head as a head coach. As an offensive coordinator, he has a future. God bless him as he goes back to the NFL.

    I have been a fan Of N.D. of 40 years and you rank right up there with the worst we have ever had.

    Tenuta must go, this defence is pathetic and i'm sick to my stomach. i just watched uconn take cinci to the last few seconds of the game, trust me this is going to get ugly down the stretch. someone needs to hold tenuta accountable, all navy does is run and he could not figure out how to slow them down? looks more like 6 & 6 irish fans!

    Navy is a pretty good football team they almost beat Ohio State this year and had at least 8 wins in six seasons straight. Tenuta needs to be fire become defense can't anyone and he doesn't know how to use the talents of his defensive players. Sh*t ND has been in top 10 in recruiting for past 3 years.

    Grew up an ND fan and played for UCONN. What is that stat I saw...? ND is like 3-12 against teams with winning records the past 2 years? Alums of ND, that is not a good stat....With a week off,(at the right time,) UCONN will have a shot...Strictly speaking from the outside of things..., Coach Weiss may know his x's and o's but DOES NOT INSPIRE...

    fire weiss... hes flat out garbage and cant win the big game. he can be no ones and crappy teams but when it comes to actual good team they fall flat on their faces again and again.
