Baylor 41, Texas A&M 21. I would like to note here that the last two-thirds of the Aggies' tally is purely cosmetic: Baylor led 41-7 entering the fourth quarter. Four interceptions (in this case, all thrown by Jerrod Johnson) will leave anyone scrambling to put lipstick on one of the more ghoulish pigs in school history, and A&M made it look slightly less ghastly.

You can't lay the humiliating margin on turnovers, though, and that's the real problem here, the real cancer that goes much deeper than a rebuilding year. In a legitimate rebuilding year, a loss to a vastly improved Baylor outfit and its electric young quarterback might just be part of the process. If it was only turnovers, those few plays by an inexperienced quarterback can be corrected with time and maturity. A&M has struggled with Baylor with before. I think they said something along these lines after the loss to Arkansas State.

But there's a big difference between going down in overtime, as the Aggies did in Waco in 2004, and giving up 500-plus yards in (essentially, minus the fourth quarter lipstick) a five-touchdown rout. Coaching transitions don't account for that sort of failure. Against Oklahoma, maybe. Against Baylor, absolutely not. The Bears are the sixth different offense to hang at least 40 on A&M, and it could have been worse if it needed to be. Other teams that have allowed 40 points to Baylor since 2004: the worst Washington State team of the modern era, Northwestern State (twice), Rice, Samford and the worst Oklahoma State team of the last decade. And now the worst Texas A&M team of at least the last 35 years. Mike Sherman's leash must be getting very short.

How scary is it when A&M is missing Coach Fran?
or maybe they're still missing Coach Slocum.

Eventually it happens to everyone. A&M will recover.

They are missing R.C. His teams got after you and played 60 every game. You had to be on your game when you played his teams. And they were almost unbeatable at home under R.C.
Missing low-life Coach Fran? Even Aggies aren't that dumb.
They should give Sherman time. He inherited a mess. The Aggies are in the toughest division in the country, with 4 teams that have been in the Top 10, and Baylor's Robert Griffin is a heck of a QB that is forgotten with all the studly QB's in the Big 12 this year.

Gee, doesn't Baylor have a new coach this year, too? The Aggies should've hired Art Briles!

Yes Jose/Tx is exactly right !!! The Aggies have no excuses and they have had some bad years before this and alot ahead in years to come.. Sherman isn't a good coach.. He was out of work before they hired him..He's old and he comes with a old style of play..He isn't Nick Saban..Sherman came in and started changing starters positions as if he knew everything.. He should have pushed his players to get better not change positions..The fullback J. Lane. and M. Goodson are good players but he doesn't know how to use them..The Big 12 is full of new ideas and yes Art Briles should have gotten that phone call about the job at bad news A&M.. Robert Griffin is a good young player but he isn't a 40 point QB and A&M made him look like the next Mike Vick...Go Horns!!!

Mike Sherman had better stock up on the Maalox before he heads to Austin on Thanksgiving. He's going to need it.
Mr. Brooks' prediction: UT 52, A&M 17. And I'm being generous on the A&M score.

USC is the best one-lose team!
SEC is hyped by all you sportswriters! SEC teams got credit by beating each other in SEC (totally ridiculous).
    USC's best-ever defense will kick Florida's butt.
Florida lost to O. Mis while USC lost to N0. 20 Oregon St! Oregon St. is much better than O. Mis!
USC has the best non-conference schedule. USC tried to schedule SEC teams but SEC teams were scared and declined.
Yes SEC won national championships against OSU, but that's because OSU was not an elite team!
Last time USC played SEC teams and they destoryed Auburn that year!
Remember USC destroyed Oklahoma in national championship game!
USC destroyed Big-10 teams in Rose bowl!

Uhh, GV, really? USC is the best "one-lose" team? Hmm... You seem to have forgotten about a Texas team that has only 1 loss, has a much tougher schedule that USC, and, if I recall correctly, beat USC in Pasadena the last time they played. Of all the major 1 loss teams out there, USC has the weakest resume.
