Today's sign of the times comes via Michigan cornerback Troy Woolfolk, whose quick thinking and trusty smart phone got him out of a bit of a jam Tuesday afternoon:

So "I'm on Google Images" has replaced "I'm on the team" as the go-to defense for today's discerning athlete? Somehow, Pitt's Jason Douglas didn't get the memo.
I'm sure this close call will motivate Troy to follow proper license discipline in the future. (Then we'll work on getting him to use the right search engine. Bing royalties, please.) But he raises a good question: When are they just going to go ahead and put the licenses on the phone instead of wasting time and money on a piece of plastic that people are prone to despise and forget? Steve Jobs, where you at?
