Whenever was the last time you watched Clemson on television -- against Alabama in the opener, against Maryland two weeks ago, against Auburn in the Bowl Formerly Known as the Peach on New Year's Eve -- odds are the Tigers were mystifyingly bad in some embarrassing way. Mystifying because, as inconsistent as we've grown accustomed to Clemson being, clearly it's a talented team. The Tigers look the part of a major conference champion, one of the reasons they were unanimously tabbed as the lone ACC superpower before the season. Ah, yes, about that: we wish to submit that Clemson is Clemson, reductio ad absurdum, and therefore capable of all possible results simultaneously in any conceivable situation.
There's Wake, on the other hand, which has no offensive talent but is nevertheless one win tonight from putting the Atlantic Division in a headlock. The Deacons, too, are coming off a humiliating loss to a seemingly inferior team from Maryland, but as theirs was out of conference, still appear to be the only team in the Atlantic that doesn't veer wildly from one extreme to the other on a week-to-week basis. They're reliably mediocre, fall on a fumble here or there, kick their field goals and play disciplined, tenacious defense. Which is to say, Clemson might run them off the field, as it did last year (44-10) or fall headlong into a hole it can't (and doesn't have the will to) claw its way out of. There's no prediciing which, but Wake just gets to be Wake. Decent television, if you like the jet sweep.
What: Clemson at Wake Forest Live Blog. All comments welcome. Not all will be approved.
When: Kickoff in the neighborhood of 7:30 p.m. Eastern. Blog begins more or less simultaneously.
Why: One of two things is going to happen: either James Davis and/or C.J. Spiller explode in highly entertaining fashion in a spectacular Clemson win, or the Tigers drop their second straight, fall to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the ACC, and the rejuvenated Tommy Bowden Death Watch begins in earnest. It's fun for the whole family!
Who: Usted. See how I used the formal version? This is because I respect you deeply, reader, and also I'm a little rusty on the ol' conjugation. Come along, anyway, click 'Watch Now,' and let Jim Grobe conjugate his two-and-a-half-star misfits into favorites for the ACC championship in front of your eyes. Just remember to roll your 'Rs'.

It sickens me each year to hear about the great Tigers and the great tradition - yeah Danny Ford and the tainted championship.
They are not USC, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Nebraska or even Boston College for that matter.
Going there is a great experience - great people! As for the football - not so much. Spare us forever your national championship talk.

I will say if Larry in #8 actually went to Clemson; his writing and grammar might be evidence of a Clemson education.
