If you can remember this far back, Auburn and West Virginia was the premiere Thursday night game of the year. In August, actually, there was a good chance both would be undefeated right about now -- all the Tigers had to do was get by LSU, and West Virginia just had to not screw everything up en route to its big, national showcase game for the Big East skeptics. So much for all that: Auburn's lost two in a row and three of four and drags in the broken remains of its alleged "offense," and the Mountaineers' best win in their 4-2 start is probably over Villanova (Jeff Sagarin thinks so, anyway).

At least there's still Pat White, battered, bruised, under the radar nationally, but still among the most exciting, watchable players in the country. Just ask Colorado's middle linebacker. Unless the Mountaineers make some kind of improbable run over the next month back to one of the big money bowls as Big East champion (they are 2-0 in the conference), or you're an obsessed WVU fanatic who has no problem with pay-per-view, this is probably your last chance to watch White run on a big, national stage, where he's always been at his best (on and off the field -- just ask Erin Andrews).

What: Thursday Night Live Blog, Auburn at West Virginia. New Mexico at Air Force fans may chime in, as well.
When: Game and blog kick off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
Why: Name brand means everything, and "Auburn at West Virginia" is still the most appealing week night throwdown of the season. If you're not seduced by the potential here, maybe Thursday night football just isn't for you. Plus, there's always a chance for the return of the Bill Stewart Face, launched on a Thursday night earlier this year at Colorado. You'll never forgive yourself if you miss it again.
Who: You and your favorite stuffed animal wearing a No. 5 West Virginia jersey. Hit 'Watch Now,' join in, and don't be ashamed: You're not the one getting all emo about a great player finishing his college career toiling for a mediocre team. It's Mr. Hugginstuff.
