Alabama is in some high cotton, boy, big time, beating on overmatched, overrated Clemson like that. And they're taking notice out there:

Clearly, when SI has spoken, nothing can go wrong from here.

Well that was only that one time. Surely a magazine of such stature learned from that bit of exuberance and would never go forward with another "Watch out for Alabama" cover unless it was absolutely certain things were really going to be different this time.

If they keep it up long enough, they're bound to hit one eventually.

LOL...that's hilarious. Must be nice to have national media slobbering all over you like that. How long until the inevitable "Return to Glory" Notre Dame cover?

Not just SI, the world is going crazy for 'bama. In fact, one of the most notable CFB bloggers put Saban's crew at the top of his blogpoll, if you can believe that . . .

I love it. Beginning about Sunday evening, Bama went from having a strong win that they earned to a cupcake win against an overrated Clemson, that may as well have been East Mississippi Tech. Classic kneejerk media and message board overreaction. Good thing Bama didn't struggle in any phase of the game outside of one kickoff return. They may have plummeted in the rankings.

Bama is NOT #1 and I'm still not convinced we can pencil in that 10-win season, but only USC had a more impressive opening weekend. It was what it was.

    Alabama beat our A$$.
Now , that being said - who cares where anyone is ranked till 3/4 of the way thru the season.
If Alabama is 4-4 , then you can call it a cupcake win.
But , if Alabama is 8-0 , then give Clemson some props for playing them and not Ga Southern, App St., La-Monroe, Hawaii,Youngstown St , Chattanooga, Villanova like the rest of the top ranked teams did.

Clemson sure didn't seem overmatched and overrated when you picked Bama to lose last week. You may have moved up the food chain, but that Southern Miss bias still rears its ugly head. I can understand why a USM fan would dig at Bama, since the wins for the eagles were so few and far between and Bama takes every decent player out of Mississippi they want, but c'mon. Clemson was good until they got their butt kicked by a team you can't stand and now they are overrated? Very even coverage. Blogworthy and typical. Keep it up. "The Process" continues.

I have to say, at least SI's pictures of 'Bama are getting better. Correlation or coincidence? Only time will tell.
Also, I have to say that is the first time I have ever heard anybody being called out for being a Southern Miss homer. Sorry buddy but your "argument" (or crazy conspiracy theory) seems like kind of a stretch. I don't think this is the first time since that game (or since Bowden has been coach) that Clemson was called overrated . Just open up the googles machine and type "clemson" and then "overrated". Or try a tin foil hat- that helps too.

"SEC Beware" really does not have the same emphasis as "Bama is Back," does it? The next one might be "Bama Maybe/Possibly Turning a Corner."
