Oregon 42, Oklahoma State 31. Did someone say something about the Pac-10 being, like, soft or something? Something tells me Zac Robinson might disagree:

This is not an "OMG U got Jacked Up!" post, except in the sense that Oregon generally jacked up Oklahoma State for the entire second half: Robinson was personally rocked no less than three times in addition to the skull-jarring collision above, while the Ducks' offensive line opened up gaping holes for Jeremiah Masoli, LaGarrette Blount and Jeremiah Johnson, who responded in turn by fending off and occasionally bowling through OSU tacklers for seven runs of at least 10 yards after halftime. Both teams finished in the top-10 nationally in rushing, but only one dominated the line of scrimmage tonight:

With rippling acrobat Dez Bryant already limping through the motions after a knee injury in the second quarter, Robinson looked like he never quite recovered from the succession of hellacious shots he took in the third; he kept getting up, bless him, but his gait was slightly woozy, his passes down the stretch were scattershot and the Cowboy offense left the field without scoring on seven of its nine second half possessions.

Oregon, meanwhile, scored touchdowns on five of its nine turns with the ball after the break, and Masoli graduated from stumpy stopgap to all-purpose threat in a span of about 15 minutes. I don't know if it was talent, depth, stamina, scheme or simple effort, but the Ducks took over the game physically in a way no one expected, and the next step in the Cowboys' ascension is put on hold for another eight months.

Amazing....no one has blogged yet huh. Maybe because they have there foot in their mouth about how weak the PAC-10 is. Our weak teams are 3-0 and we just beat a so called good Oklahoma St. team. I'm lov'n it right about now. USC and Penn St. is gonna be a very good game and we still have the Oregan St. game. I think there playing Pitt, who isn't all that bad. If we go 5-0 in the bowls I will just be in seventh heaven and will love to talk to all you haters of the PAC-10.

Love the Ducks and always have so glad to see them win and expose that the Big 12 has no defense. I'm a Florida Gator fan watch Florida expose it also. Florida does have a real defense and offense Oklahoma is going down. Game will probably will be over by halftime like 2 years ago against Ohio State!!!

PAC 10 FANS CALM DOWN... its a bowl game you've had half a season to prepare. now if you had just beat ou, texas, texas tech, then beat osu you could talk. this is the most boring part of football, bowl games. gator fans, sooner fans i would be embarassed to claim a "championship" that has no playoff, no bracket, no elimination. i wonder what would happen if you gave the super bowl teams 8 weeks off to prepare? what if march madness really ended in may? what if instead of the world series, we just let the fans vote on their favorite team? gator fans be glad it's not ole miss you are playing they beat you with 1 week to prepare, sooners same goes for you and the longhorns, they just wanted it more in the red river shootout. give them a big shiny trophy to play/ prepare for and see what happens.

Hey Pac-10 fan- your #2 team beat the #4 or 5 team in the B12. Yay.
The reason the Pac-10 usually does well in bowl games is because they fail to get 2 teams into the BCS, so they are staggered below the other teams. Also, their bowl alignments stink- number 2 plays on December 30th?
Anyhoo, that was a fun game to watch with a lot of talent, but aside from a few big hits, an embarassing display of defense by both sides...

If I have to hear from the idiots like Craig James that it was only a win by the Pac 10 #2 vs The Big 12 #4 again I'll throw up. Oklahoma St. was 13 in the BCS. Oregon was 17. Oklahoma St was supposed to be the better team according to the BCS and AP. So why did Oregon win by 11 and score 42 on the BCS #13 team? 42 points! Oregon could only score 16 on Cal and just 10 on USC.
The other Big 12 team I watched this bowl season was unimpressive as well. Missouri would have lost to Northwestern if the the Northwestern kicker had not hit the goal post on an extra point. Missouri was the team to beat to send Oklahoma to the BCS championship?

it's just surprising how important football is to the Big 10 or SEC fans, and not that important those who live out west, and yet our teams keep kicking your butts. Life in the west is so much more diverse and interesting, you interior guys need to win at something, so it's almost as if the Pac-10 teams should give you that, but alas, the west is the best, even at football.

    @ #5
Chill out. You're using the Holiday Bowl as a soap-box opportunity for pissing and moaning about the lack of a playoff? These are two teams that wouldn't have been in any playoff anyway so just be glad you got to watch free (and VERY entertaining) football. Wait til next week and THEN you can cry that college football's post season is so terrible (after watching 8-8 San Diego HOST Indianapolis in the flawless* NFL playoff system).
*despite giving us a 6-loss champion that finished 3rd in their division and already lost to the runner up during the regular season last year

#12...adder 30. The problem with your logic in bashing the NFL playoff, is that the N.Y. Giants won against every team they needed to beat to become champion. All the other teams ended their season with a loss. Including the 18-0, greatest football team in NFL history, New England Patriots.

I love it! Go Pac-10..... Showing everyone that the Big 12 is a Big joke! Everyone talked all year about how bad the Pac-10 was and now they are 3-0 in bowl games... and will more than likely finish 5-0! Just shows how good that USC team really is!

USC is always on top yet rarely gets a chance to play the big game. Same with undefeated Penn St. teams in the past. These big 12 teams have no defense and no heart. Whenever they play someone of quality they get stomped. Recall USC crushing Okla. a few years back. Then crushing Michigan. Sure they lost a close one to Texas but both teams played well. The Pac 10 is very underrated. The big 12 is highly overrated and concerned with points and numbers.
Let's hear it for Richmond for winning the 1-AA championship

Oregon has improved immensely since the losses to BSU, USC, and CAL and it is all because of Masoli. I have been calling for Darron Thomas to take over the starting job since the BSU game, but I have finally been shut up by Masoli. He has proven me (a very cynical Duck fan) wrong and I am grateful for that. After watching some sub-par performances from the Ducks this year, they have finished strong and come away with another 10 win season. Great to see!
