Part of the Doc's Big East Week.
Six years into their Big East odyssey, all three of the Conference USA refugees that came aboard during the Great Expansion Crisis of 2004 have already tasted their share of success – Cincinnati and Louisville have won their way into conference championships and BCS games, and South Florida has risen as high as No. 2 in the polls en route to five straight bowl bids. They also all happen to find themselves under new management this , for vastly different reasons, with vastly different coaches assuming the reins. Which of the rookies' futures is the brightest in his new locale? Let's go to the tape...
It's like science: When you break it down, Holtz's pedigree and experience turning around far more dire situations than he inherits at USF put him on equal footing with Strong, who should have an easy time exceeding the shattered expectations of shellshocked Louisville fans. For Butch Jones, though, on the heels of the three best individual season in Cincinnati history in quick succession, the Bearcats have nowhere to go but down.
