Percy, no!

Scroll down or click here for the Doc's weekly game day live blog.

Unless he's trying to pull a little gamesmanship -- a la Hayden Fox in that one episode of Coach, when star quarterback Bo Whitley throws his crutches aside and leads the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles to victory in the final seconds of the Pioneer Bowl -- Urban Meyer has confirmed Percy Harvin will miss the SEC Championship game this afternoon with a bum ankle. If the kid can so much as jog, I'd have him on the field for decoy purposes; as much speed as Florida has, nobody in college football is as versatile as Harvin, and his ability to move into different roles and light the defense on fire from any spot on the field changes how the Gators are defended. In the same way, his absence must limit certain elements of Florida's offense.

Put it this way: If missing one of the most dynamic big-play guys in the country doesn't affect Florida's offense against a defense on the level of Alabama's, that is really frightening.

I'm so sick of Had their Back up QB/wide reciever take them to that game and were even lucky to have got to where they were. They were a good team that year for what they had to go up against. Last year they jut didn't want to even be there in the first place. The players felt they had failed when they lost to Texas Tech. Which Bradford didn't play in. They felt like that was the year they should have played for the title. West Virginia wanted to be there. I've been a Sooner fan for 27 yrs since I was able to watch them. They've won more big games than I can count. The one thing I've learned about being a Sooner fan is that everyone loves to hate us and beat us. But, guess what? Cry all you want, nothing is stopping us now. Sorry Texas for the sorry system since you beat us heads up. I'll be thinkng of you while I'm eating BQ at the game tonight. Even if we don't win the title, remember Sooner fans e wouldn't be where we are now without Stoops. Remember the 90's is what I always say. LMFAO at all the teams that didn't get in this year. Especially under-rated Florida that lot to the only half decent defense they played this year. Rebels man handled them. Look out today gators. Let's see how you handle this D. 52-17 sooners win. 26-20 Alabama wins...........

Yeah Ted, OK has won more big games than you can count. Can you count two BCS title game implosions, getting garroted by KS St. and losing to Boise freakin' State. God, go Mizzou and shut these Okie jokers traps. OK is the new freaking Ohio State.

I am so ready for this game to start I can't stand it. If bama only scores ten points in the first half like they did against Auburn they will have no need to play the second half. If and I say if Florida rolls over bama then there are going to be plenty of sooners crying themselves to sleep all the to the title game wondering "HOW THE HELL DO WE STOP THEM!!" EAT EM UP GATORS EAT EM UP B/C WE'RE SERVING SOONERS FOR DESSERT!!!!

I think 26 -20 GATORS . Because of the points scored in the fourth quarter by the 2nd and 3rd string when Harvin and Teboe where sitting out the rest of the game.

It's all a silly discussion to me! USC is the best team in the country for the 3rd year in a row. The east and southeast elitism in collegiate football make me sick. Do the names of Tulane, Western Kentucky, Ark. St., The Citadel, Hawaii, Chattanooga, Cincinatti, Fl. Atlantic, and UTEP ring a bell? Lool at the non-conference schedules of your contenders. Did you find Ohio State, or Notre Dame? Duhhhhh.

As a supporter of a team that was beat by both I think the bias toward florida is kinda of stupid. they were beat by Ole Miss by old school football. Run at them! Notre Dame and Ohio State? those teams are not exactly lighting up the world with there strength.

there is no way Bama is gonna take down the Gators first they are gonna have to stop Tebow in passing, then they gotta stop him running. As far as im concerned they might be able to do one of those but not both..

First let me comment on the USC moron.....you want to tout USC beating ND (6-6 on the season with the only decent wins against Purdue and Navy) and Ohio State (10-2 but lost both games against decent teams USC and Penn St) and yet you fail to see that they lost to Oregon State and squeaked by Arizona & Cal. USC is FAR from the best team in the country this year and i llok forward to them losing in the bowl game so I can laugh at you the entire off-season.
Secondly, it doesn't matter who plays in the national title game, it will be tainted at best. The Big 12 has made sure that there will be controversy the entire off-season as well as discussions regarding their tie-break system. Oklahoma ends up the benefactor of the most screwed up tie-break system that i have EVER heard of and TT gets screwed in the process.
Lastly, someone explain to me how an undefeated team that beat Air Force, Oregon State, TCU and BYU ends up 7th in the rankings and has NO CHANCE at the national title??? Because the BCS is a joke, and the polls will always tilt in favor of perennial favorites such as Fla and USC. The time has come for a playoff system...they wanna whine about making the season longer? CUT OUT ONE OF THOSE STUPID GIMME GAMES!!!! The amount of money generated by playoffs games will far outweigh and revenue lost by playing teams that most only schedule to boost their offensive numbers so it looks better to the computers and pollsters!

If Oklahoma beats Florida, and Texas beats Ohio State then Texas should be crowned national champion. Just good common sense. Texas 45 Oklahoma 35.

hey mike...those teams you mention would do really well playing a pac10 schedule, the conference schedule SEC and Big12 teams play would kill USC. Bottom line, if usc can't win out its cupcake conference, it deservedly goes to the bottom of the list for 1 loss teams.
I love Tim Tebow and the Gators have a ton of weapons. But to have Percy Harvin out and beat a tremendous BAMA team by 11...WOW. Harvin is one of the top 5 players in college football, lose a guy like that and you should be toast.
Frankly, I might rather the Gators play Texas than OU in the NC. Not because Texas is more deserving, but because OU would smoke Texas today...they may not have been the better team in Oct but there is no doubt today. You want to play the best though, and I'd say that would be UF, USC and OU. Penn State is out because the Big10 has embarassed themselves the past 2 years. TT is out because of the beatdown by OU. Texas is out because the lost to TT who got demolished by OU. (Also, you can take points away from Texas for reversing their position from a few years ago.) BAMA is out because they just lost to the Gators. Don't even waste my time with the non-BCS teams...look what a Georgia team did to undefeated Hawaii last year and UGA was mediocre at best given what they did this year with basically the same team.
Percy Harvin is the man and he'll be healthy for the NC game. OU's D is coming on, UF's D is stud-city. Should be a great game!
