Unless he's trying to pull a little gamesmanship -- a la Hayden Fox in that one episode of Coach, when star quarterback Bo Whitley throws his crutches aside and leads the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles to victory in the final seconds of the Pioneer Bowl -- Urban Meyer has confirmed Percy Harvin will miss the SEC Championship game this afternoon with a bum ankle. If the kid can so much as jog, I'd have him on the field for decoy purposes; as much speed as Florida has, nobody in college football is as versatile as Harvin, and his ability to move into different roles and light the defense on fire from any spot on the field changes how the Gators are defended. In the same way, his absence must limit certain elements of Florida's offense.
Put it this way: If missing one of the most dynamic big-play guys in the country doesn't affect Florida's offense against a defense on the level of Alabama's, that is really frightening.

Secondly, it doesn't matter who plays in the national title game, it will be tainted at best. The Big 12 has made sure that there will be controversy the entire off-season as well as discussions regarding their tie-break system. Oklahoma ends up the benefactor of the most screwed up tie-break system that i have EVER heard of and TT gets screwed in the process.
Lastly, someone explain to me how an undefeated team that beat Air Force, Oregon State, TCU and BYU ends up 7th in the rankings and has NO CHANCE at the national title??? Because the BCS is a joke, and the polls will always tilt in favor of perennial favorites such as Fla and USC. The time has come for a playoff system...they wanna whine about making the season longer? CUT OUT ONE OF THOSE STUPID GIMME GAMES!!!! The amount of money generated by playoffs games will far outweigh and revenue lost by playing teams that most only schedule to boost their offensive numbers so it looks better to the computers and pollsters!

I love Tim Tebow and the Gators have a ton of weapons. But to have Percy Harvin out and beat a tremendous BAMA team by 11...WOW. Harvin is one of the top 5 players in college football, lose a guy like that and you should be toast.
Frankly, I might rather the Gators play Texas than OU in the NC. Not because Texas is more deserving, but because OU would smoke Texas today...they may not have been the better team in Oct but there is no doubt today. You want to play the best though, and I'd say that would be UF, USC and OU. Penn State is out because the Big10 has embarassed themselves the past 2 years. TT is out because of the beatdown by OU. Texas is out because the lost to TT who got demolished by OU. (Also, you can take points away from Texas for reversing their position from a few years ago.) BAMA is out because they just lost to the Gators. Don't even waste my time with the non-BCS teams...look what a Georgia team did to undefeated Hawaii last year and UGA was mediocre at best given what they did this year with basically the same team.
Percy Harvin is the man and he'll be healthy for the NC game. OU's D is coming on, UF's D is stud-city. Should be a great game!
