Oklahoma 62, Missouri 21. The focus tonight, deservedly, will be the ongoing exuberance of the Sooner offense, over 500 yards and 45 points for the seventh game in a row, and over 60 for the fifth in a row. For SEC fans, and maybe a few very bitter Longhorns, the focus of the next month will be on the Sooners' lack of D. It's hard to argue otherwise based on the numbers, with OU ranking 66th in total defense and 60th in scoring D coming into tonight and having given up 45 and 41, respectively, in its marquee games against Texas and Oklahoma State.

Twice in the last three weeks, though, the Sooners have two glittering, diamond-encrusted defensive efforts to put in front of the skeptics, against two of the most prolific offenses in the country outside of their own. Against Texas Tech, OU held an offense averaging 47 points in its other 11 games to seven points, three punts, two turnovers on downs and an interception in the first half; the vast majority of the Raiders' eventual 400-yard night came after they trailed 51-7 early in the third quarter. Tonight, against an offense averaging 500-plus yards and 45 points in its first 12 games, Oklahoma held Missouri scoreless on six of the Tigers' first seven drives and led 41-7 before Mizzou gained the bulk of its 360 yards in the third and fourth quarters. In the first half alone, Chase Daniel was sacked three times, fumbled once and was intercepted once. Look at those scores again if necessary. Daniel and Graham Harrell may as well have played 40 minutes in handcuffs.

Not including gimme wins over Chattanooga and Washington, the Sooners' average halftime advantage for the season is 36-14; since losing to Texas, it's 42-15. Just something to keep in mind when the "one-dimensional/no defense" buzz begins in earnest.

the D is not the best in the country but the Offense is so good that as long as they get some stops then they will probably win.

Now that Oklahoma is assured of a place in the BCS title game, are the Longhorns going to defer the Big 12's auto-bid to Texas Tech based on the two teams' irrefutable, overriding head-to-head result, or does that only apply when it works in your favor?

#12 usually i dont like to talk about the past, but lets get something straight....OU 7 Texas 4.....that is the number of national titles won, OU 6 Texas 2......that is big 12 titles won....so yes u did go undefeated in 05 and win the national title.....but dont bring up championships.......OU has your # in those 2 catagories. Hey with all that said, i will root for Texas and any other big 12 team that plays in a bowl game, makes the conference look better.

Flawless. I'm a diehard season ticket holdind SOONER in enemy territory (AKA Austin TX) Quit your f"ing whining. OU would hang more than half a hundred on UT right now. They are the best team in the nation right now. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE UT AND OU IN THE BS (NOTE BS) NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Over 700 points in a season, plus the only other team to almost put up thaT many points was the 89 Houston Cougar team. Their quarterback won the heisman that year (Andre Ware). This will be Bradford's year to win the stiff arming trophy. McCoy, Harrell, Teblow won't win the coveted stiff arming trophy. This will be the year that Big Game Stoops will get a BS trophy. BOOMER SOONER. ( sorry about the punctuation, i'm drunk)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Women in Indian saris mud wrestling would have looked much more tolerable than this sorry, messy exhibition of footballl slop. If OK can stay a little close to FLA they will lose their second game of the yr at 45-35 again. I not, then 45-21!
only in America can a 2nd place team play a fourth place team after losing to the best team and cll it confb chmp game

Amnesia hits Bama (are we supposed to hand off more and keep on drilling this team's throat still?)
    Guess we should panic instead.
    OK--panic time--we're down by three.

Oklahoma has a great offense. That is no news flash. But the 5 straight 60 point wins are not as impressive as they sound. Most teams in college football call off the dogs before they get there. All Oklahoma was doing was padding there coaches ego who has gone from Big Game Bob to BCS Flop. Coaches with class put in there reserves in and if they score 60 with their 3rd stringers running up the middle then there is nothing you can say except you your kids got some game experience. That would be "not quittting", Scoring 60 when your opponents are just there to kill the clock and they know they have no chance is 1000% classless college foootball. That's what Joklahoma has done the last 5 weeks. Padding stats for a Heisman race and knowing that was The only way they could jump over Texas for National Title bid. So I applaud Mack Brown for saying "Texas will go out and win our way" Which for you Sooner fans I'll translate for you, "We won't run up scores to make ourselves look better to get a national title bid or heisman voters that just look at stats" So screw OU we'll see what happens when Fla. faces you in Miami. My geuss is that Fla will keep OU tradition of BCS FLOP going making all those 60 point wins worth nothing.

Harbor Pointe...no..they will concede nothing. The head to head deal only works if the national title game is involved. No,now that there is no hope for that...that old 39 to 33 deal will be swept under the throw rug and hopefully forgotten. I hope Leach spent the night on the phone like Macky poo did trying to state his case. All efforts will be futile though and we are use to the treatment up here in West Texas. If you arent on or east of I-35 you do not belong in Texas...you are trailer trash....not worthy...unless you have an awesome athlete..then your town is exempt for the next 4 or 5 years...but your town only. Life goes on,its only a game. I usually pull for the big 12 teams in their bowls and I will again this year...except for one..I will be pulling for Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl..to prove to the rest of the world what most of us already know down here and to prove to the UT fans...their team isnt all that..they think they are...but they arent

I love how everyone just shrugs and says "hey, get over it, Texas."' When was the last time you were passed over in favor of a team with the exact same record as yours whose only loss came from....wait for it.... YOU? Sam Bradford:"I don't see how we could possibly not be number one tomorrow." What is that? I doubt he'd be saying crap like that if he were in Colt McCoy's shoes. What is the matter with people--has the entire country just given up on fairness in favor of a COMPLETELY flawed computer system and now we're all excpected to just swallow the WRONG team? Can we just say from now on that the national champion is an opinion rather than a true title? It sure means less in my eyes than ever before (Auburn, I feel you now) THIS IS RIDICULOUS. It's what's wrong with the country today--nobody cares about doing the right thing anymore--None of you, even you Oklahoma fans, can say that this is in any way fair (without lying through your teeth), and yet Texas and it's seniors are just supposed to swallow this and say, "oh, that's the way it goes. We didn't win the popularity contest." Absurd. Absurd. Absurd. Absurd, Absurd. People want to blame hurt linebackers when the truth is that TEXAS BEAT OKLAHOMA and one person does not win or lose football games, a team does. The couldn't score when they needed to either, was that guy playing offense too? The worst of all this is that the two are bitter rivals, and Oklahoma has so little CLASS that they decided to pay someone to fly above Austin ( in the most disrespectful move ever) with a sign telling us to get over it. We whipped your asses, why don't you get over it? I guess you have to talk smack from a plane cause you couldn't handle us on the field. 99% of the talent in the history of your program comes from TEXAS. DISPUTE THAT, ya bunch of white trash rednecks. Best of luck BLOWING yet another BCS bid, cause Florida earned their spot and I'm confident they're going to steam roll your sorry ass wannabe defense anyway.

Can OU ever win with out running up the score to prove how big they are, I guess the coaching staff just doesn't teach manners. Well that what I see with the rest of Oklahoma any how. This state is as bad as it school. But what can you expect with a name like SOONER, now what were the sooners? I know CHEATERS........
