Dr. Saturday - NCAAF

Disclaimer: The following clip is most definitely not safe for work. If there are individuals who have a role in your continued employment within earshot (or of a quick History check) you'll just want to keep scrolling.

But if you're Lane Kiffin, the line around the 1:13 mark is most definitely safe for recruiting:

Let the record show that Lane Kiffin has entered the pop lexicon as the only active college football coach with a mainstream name-check to his credit, and goes in with a, uh, blaze of glory:

"Rock my hat to the side like I paint pictures. / Smoke weed, talk [expletive] like Lane Kiffin."

The Knoxville News-Sentinel thinks Tennessee won't like it. Tennessee will live with it, though, for one reason: it can shill out for the best recruiters in the country, and it can empty entire departments on campus to pay for the nation's largest recruiting budget, but it will never buy an advantage like being able to walk into a 17-year-old's house and say, "I'm the guy in the Li'l Wayne song. I talk [expletive]."

(If nothing else, it's certainly better than "No, I'm not the guy from Tosh.0." It's all part of the plan, folks.)

[UPDATE, 4:05 p.m. ET] In case there was any doubt, Lane loves it, thanks:

If he replaces "practice" with "drank," there's no stopping him.

This doesn't make sense to me on some level. Like, sense when is "talking $h1t" a positive thing? Like "hey kid, I talk [profane] about other people, like your mother" Obviously he wouldn't say that, but I guess my point is that generally, "talking [profane]" is translated to "talking down or badly about people", and I don't understand how that is a recruiting advantage.
On the other hand, maybe I'm just an old man and not in the loop to the new lingo, so whatever.

It's funny when they talk it, but can't back it up. IE: Kiffin @ UF; Kiffin @ Bama.

can't you guys just sit back and laugh about this? kiffin brought some ish with him to Tenn. i think it is hilarious. he brought interest to program and whether they beat Florida or not, i think it is great. Plus lil wayne makes more money than us so whether he is a moron or not, he is doing something right. Kiffin is a G just like big balls pete is a bad ass also. dont be so hard up you old grumpy men. laugh about things, and stop wishing you won state when you were 30 years younger.

genius_man, its not that "talking [profane]" is a good thing, its bravado and we all know that football players do engage in a bit of machismo and bravado from time to time.
The "good thing" here is that Lil Wayne (weezy to some) is a huge rap "star" and he name-dropped Kiffin in a good way. That is the "good thing" here.
Personally I wouldn't enjoy it, Lil Wayne sucks but the "kids" do.

Florida and Alabama were going to Tenn regardless of who was coach this year. The fact both games were as close as they were ON THE ROAD speaks volumes to what Kiffin has done to this program in a short time.
I'm a fan of the real UT though...not the Volunteers.

All you UT haters can suck on it. And when you are done sucking on it , you can suck on it some more. A dynasty is being built in Knoxville. Saban, Meyer, Miles, Spurrier and the rest are just getting a taste of their own medicine.
It's great to be at TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER!

Lane will get the offense hummin, then look out. Montes already got the defense playin right. Tennessee's defense looks good -- nobodies noticed that? Monte's a beast!!! Tennessee got the best coaching team in the country, get some more recruits and ill become and sec believer. Right now, not so much. We will get two championships this year though. After Florida whoops Alabama theyll either go take it to Texas or we'll all see what we all know we really deep down want FLORIDA, USC for all the marbles.
