Either that, or Carroll saw a lot more in Washington's quarterback than his 21-of-35, zero-touchdown passing effort suggested in the Huskies' defensively-driven upset:
"That's the best quarterback we've played in nine years here," Carroll said when told Washington has beaten only Idaho and USC the last two years. "Jake Locker has ridiculous talent, and had he remained healthy last year, Tyrone [Willingham] would still be coaching there."
Locker's two fourth quarter field goal drives with the game on the line were impressive, but, uh ... you sure you're not forgetting someone there, coach?
Carroll's Trojans have also been downed over the years by stars Aaron Rodgers, Dennis Dixon and Ell Roberson and beaten future first-rounders Jason Campbell and Brady Quinn, as well as Heisman runners-up Brad Banks and Jason White. But Pete is the expert here: We'll see the heights that Locker scales, and the hopeless pit of despair into which Steve Sarkisian will follow Willingham when his meal ticket moves on.

It's the best QB they've played here (in Seattle), not the best QB they've played, period. Thankfully, Ryan Leaf predated Carroll's tenure. (Mustnotlaugh...)

Im taking this as a huge insult to UW. Does he think that after Locker is done that the Huskies are going to be a 0 win team again? geez!! we are like 21st overall in recruiting, says rivals.com! We got Montana's son coming next! 4 star recruit! Go DAWGS!
