Making the morning rounds.
• We can still baselessly bandy his name about, can't we? Can't we?! Despite his ubiquitous presence in coaching rumors at Notre Dame and Louisville, John Gruden agreed to a multiyear extension in ESPN's Monday Night Football booth, but that doesn't mean he can't still change his mind, right? If Urban Meyer can't shake the South Bend buzz, a new deal should hardly inoculate Gruden -- Charlie Weis has a contract, too, you know, and no one seems to be holding him to it. Give us our meme, NFL! (Although I will support Gruden's return to any school if his contract mandates he coach wearing the Joker mask at all times.) [Associated Press]
• At least Kragthorpe is in it for the long run. Gruden or no Gruden, the reaper is following Steve Kragthorpe's every step in the 'Ville, though the embattled coach "definitely" wants to be back in 2010: "Although we haven’t won as many games as we wanted to, we’ve been very close in a lot of games this year and I don’t think we’re that far away from being the kind of team we want to be, and that’s a team that competes for the championship," Kragthorpe said on Monday. In related news, the headline immediately beneath "Kragthorpe wants to stay with Louisville" is "Louisville scrapes past Syracuse 10-9" for its first Big East win of the year. [Associated Press]
• Cardinal won't get Cal's Best. California coach Jeff Tedford said there's "no chance" Jahvid Best will play in Saturday's rivalry game at Stanford, increasing the chances that the star running back's frightening end zone tumble against Oregon State two weeks ago is the last we've seen of Best in a Bear uniform: After the Cardinal, Cal has its regular season finale at Washington and a bowl game, after which Best could be headed for the draft. [San Francisco Chronicle]
• D.C. is Hokie Town. Virginia Tech's effort to become "Washington's college team" will continue in 2012, when the Hokies will take on Cincinnati in FedEx Field in a matchup that probably looks a lot better now, with the Brian Kelly-led Bearcats in the top ten, than it will in three years, when Kelly is making millions and trying to ward off the hot seat at some high-profile rebuilding job. Tech has already added a solid FedEx Field game with Boise State to its 2010 slate. [Virginian-Pilot]
Quickly ... Tiger Woods will be Stanford's honorary captain for the Big Game against Cal. ... Missouri will be without second-leading receiver Jared Perry for the rest of the season thanks to a broken leg. ... And OMG Terrelle Pryor is in a bar!

I'd think a dude like you would be able to get more appealing booty. Maybe it's just that most of the girls at OSU are smart enough to realize how much you suck.
