Oklahoma State 28, Missouri 23. Dadgummit, Boone Pickens set out to buy hisself a champin'ship footbaw team, and them Cowboys all of a sudden look like they're steady on their way to the big time. Ooooo-wee! Who needs another billion dollars when you pick off Chase Daniel three times in the second half? Upsettin' the number three team in the dang country on the road -- that's what T-Boone's payin' for, boys! Yeeeeeehaw!

im glad the game turned out the way it did. but i really need to stress mizzou is a JOKE and they were nothing more than hype from the media. ok st will get a true test in a couple of weeks against texas which they have no chance of winning. but celebrate this win becasue you just help texas claim the number 1 spot in the land and chase out of the heisman race (which he did not belong to begin with). GO COWBOYS!

I find the caption with the photo demeaning. Mr. Pickens wasn't trying to "buy" a championship, but trying to move his alma mater forward in football, and thereby help give it a higher profile nationally. OSU has had a high profile internationally for decades, but has played a poor second fiddle to OU for most of those years. Personally, I think the money could have been better spent, but do not begrudge Mr. Pickens his wealth, nor doubt his sincerity. As for the win versus Missouri, MU isn't all hype. They have built a strong program, and the national press was ahead of itself in its estimation, as it almost always is at this point in a season. What we saw was a clash between two programsthat managed to surprise each other a bit, with OSU managing the bigger set of surprises. Even as an OSU alum, I don't see OSU in the title hunt, neither Big 12 nor National ... yet. They are growing as a team, and will be better each week than the week before, even if and when they suffer reverses. This is a credit to all involved, players and coaches. In two weeks there's the trip to Austin, and it will be a better team by then. But will it have grown enough to manage a win there? We'll see. In the mean time, they need to keep their eyes on Baylor. Baylor may be the worst team in the South Division (thought A&M is contesting the title), but there isn't a truly bad team in the entirety of the Big 12. Each is capable of jumping and thumping any other time that takes it too lightly.

I am an OSU fan (the team from Columbus). But I thoroughly enjoyed the Cowboys stomping on Missouri. And what I most want to know is why the Cowboys are behind BYU, UGA, and Florida in the USA poll?
