Ed Orgeron is ready for his close-up

You've surely heard by now that former Ole Miss head coach and current Tennessee recruiting sergeant Ed Orgeron is playing himself in the film adaptation of "The Blind Side," the bestseller that introduced the world to the joys of Lemspeak. With recruits off-limits in May and Tennessee's spring game in the books, it's the most convenient time of year for a coach to take off -- but whatever you do, don't call Orgeron's scenes this week in Atlanta a vacation:

The reason I did it, really, is it's an opportunity for recruiting. It's going to help us in recruiting to see one of our coaches in a movie that goes all over the nation. It's going to help. That's the big reason I did it.

Good thing Orgeron found room in his schedule, too, since we're absolutely positive there's not an actor alive who could have performed even the palest imitation of his Cajun growl:

If his role in "The Blind Side" expands his reach like Orgeron hopes, why stop there? He and his agent would do well to explore further Hollywood opportunities to increase his standing as a household name -- what mother wouldn't want her son playing football for the gentle giant behind the gorilla mask in the all-human remake of "Koko's Kitten"? Or to hone his fierce competitive edge, might we suggest a turn as a Bond villain? "Zydeco" has a nice ring to it, actually. And our agent did say he met Daniel Craig's personal barista ...

The title role in "Captain America."
John in the remake of "9 1/2 Weeks" (Originally played by Mickey Rourke)
Additionally, he should take all roles intended for Michael Cera.
