Oregon 44, Arizona 41 (Overtime). I suspect that if you'd given Arizona the broad script of this game, the Wildcats probably would have taken it. The Ducks passed more than they ran, with Jeremiah Masoli's somewhat unpredictable arm launching a career-high 45 attempts; they went six straight possessions in the second and third quarters with no points and only a single first down; and 'Zona ripped off 17 unanswered points over the same span for a double-digit lead early in the fourth quarter. Under most circumstances, that's a winning script.

Whatever remained of the 'one-dimensional' charge against Masoli, though, flitted harmlessly away on the Ducks' two fourth quarter touchdown drives, on which he was 12-for-18 for 111 yards, converted a pair of third-down runs and connected on a do-or-die pass to move the sticks on fourth down just two plays before drilling the tying touchdown to Ed Dickson with six seconds on the clock. In overtime, he lobbed his third touchdown pass under pressure in the first frame and set up his own number on the winning run by firing a 23-yard strike to Dickson on the first snap of the second. Roughly half of Masoli's 345 total yards came in the fourth quarter and in overtime, and to all the other arrows in quiver, you can now add "clutch" after the first fourth quarter comeback of the season.

Still, that won't do much for him if it doesn't carry over in two weeks, when the Ducks get Oregon State in Eugene for the de facto, winner-take-all Pac-10 Championship game for an automatic trip to the Rose Bowl, one of the most improbable sentences typed in this or any other season. Even in their cozy, raucous home lair, the Ducks are guaranteed of nothing in the Civil War, but there's no questioning their resiliency after a night like this: Arizona was out with daggers to take the leap forward into the conference's elite, and plenty of would-be contenders -- UCLA in 2005, Cal in '06, Oregon itself in '07 -- have bitten the dust in Tucson against lesser Wildcat outfits than this one under Mike Stoops' watch. The Ducks come out licking some wounds in their secondary after being stung for 311 yards and four touchdowns by 'Zona quarterback Nick Foles, but this seemed like the kind of game only a Rose Bowl-worthy team comes out of at all.

Um, I'm a Beaver fan and I know that Masoli lead the Ducks to a huge win over Stanford last year that turned their season around. This wasn't Masoli's first 4th quarter Rodeo.

masoli is hands down, pac 10 player of the year. just surpassed joey harrington for total points scored and he's got two years left as a junior.
arizona fans looked like fools storming the field before the game was over, then hurling water bottles and junk at the players. an oregon cheerleader was hit on the head with a full water bottle and she had to be carted of the field and hospitalized for a concussion.
stay classy arizona....and would someone finally flag stoops for storming onto the field during the game?

The PAC 10 deserves way more respect than it gets. 5-0 in Bowl games last year and will probably sweep again this year.
The SEC. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Beavers are going to get killed in the Civil War. They'll goto the Las Vegas Bowl and that will be it. Nobody cares about OSU even in Oregon, except for those hicks over in Hazard County (Corvallis). It's like the Clippers, White Sox, or UCLA. They are forever the second choice team/school in Oregon and nobody in Oregon becomes a Beaver fan unless the Ducks start losing. I don't know how many countless times they've cost the Pac-10 in terms of BCS championships and money for being the little gutty underdog.
I mean their Baseball team wins back to back NCAA baseball championships and they couldn't even get a parade.
It's a shame because Mike Riley is one helluva coach. A true class act, unlike that guy over in Palo Alto, and he's someone who gets the most of out his players. I really want to stress that he really does get the absolute best of his guys. Because lets be honest he's never going to get a five star blue chip player to come there.
Actually, if there's a AD who is actually smart enough to throw some money at this guy, he'd be more than happy to jump ship to a bigger school. If I were Notre Dame or even some SEC school, I'd seriously look at signing this guy.

Civil War: Beavers 35, Ducks 31
You'll even see that classless thug Blount play.
And the stench of the homeless hippies in Eugene will not go away.

Thug? Have you seen your Beavers lately? In case you haven't noticed the road to Pasadena goes thru Hippietown...and here is a statistic for you...Massoli hasn't lost a home game this year and lets look at a couple things...
Your running back is fresh off a concussion and believe be come civil war time he will get hit harder. You have him and we have Massoli, Barner, Crenshaw, LaMichael James, Alston, and oh...there is that "street thug" that hasn't started or been in a game since Boise State and he just might take that out on your guys...I hope he does.
As for the cold hard fact that you are coming to Hippie town if you want to see them lose in person, please take advantage of the local cuisine. We'll be serving Beaver, and as for your score...I got one for ya...
    Oregon Ducks - 56
    OSU Beavers - 24
I'll watch you guys win the Sun Bowl though, I have a big heart.

Go Beavers! And this is coming from a Wildcat fan. Granted the ball bounced Oregon's way all night, but if it wasn't for Stoops and his poor game management in the last quarter the Ducks would have been plucked.
The Oregon players kept jabbering the entire game last night like a bunch of women!

I am amazed what will be done to keep schools like miami in the poll rankings. it shows that it is all about money. yet houston has to put 10x the effort to be recognized. I guess that's why i have pretty much lost interest in ncaa football. it is a total joke and mostly is used to reflect the greed, egos, and penis size of idiotic jocks. If a team like TCU or Boise had lost a single game by 1 point, they'd be lucky to be in the top 25.
