Dr. Saturday - NCAAF

News from Bristol on one of its own this afternoon: GameDay mainstay, sometime studio analyst and general rabble-rouser Lee Corso has suffered a mild stroke. The coach will appreciate your prayers and elaborate candy gifts, we're sure, but don't break out the tissues just yet:

"This is just a small bump in the road," Corso said in a statement issued by ESPN. "A 'not so fast, my friend' in my game of life."

No one who makes a living by donning elaborate headgear and wielding the occasional weapon (while also selling pencils) will be stopped by a mere artery blockage. Corso apparently suffered no lasting damage, and he's expected to be back in time to resume his GameDay duties in the fall, where we can only hope his trademark histrionics will continue unaffected. Remember, Scooter: "Toning it down" on set means the ischemias have won.

Cant say I am always a fan of your antics, but get well Coach. He is a great public speaker away from the cameras.

Annoying as hell sometimes, but he typically pulls for Mizzou, so that makes me happy. Get better.

I hope this doesn't affect the wearing of the mascot headgear.
