Western's 16-15 record might not have looked like much, but it indicated that Catamounts are going to be contenders in the division for years to come.</p> <p>It started with Harouna Mutombo, the Southern Conference freshman of the year. The 6-foot-4 guard started all 31 games (one of two players to do so), averaging 14.4 points and 1.8 steals per game. </p> <p>The season included highs (the winning record) and lows, primarily how the season ended.
