West Virginia played physical, kept the tempo at a preferred slower pace and was rebounding aggressively for most of the first half Tuesday night. Things don't get any easier for West Virginia, which just got blown out by Notre Dame 71-44 Wednesday in South Bend.
The Mountaineers return home with just one day's rest to prepare for a rare Friday night meeting with No. 10 Marquette.
Marquette offers a completely different set of problems for the Mountaineers, save for the fact that the Golden Eagles are just as hot, having won 10 or their last 11 games.
While Notre Dame has spent the season trying to slow games down, Marquette plays as if it's trying not to be late for a date.
The Golden Eagles are a team in a hurry, and they have the talent to do so. Marquette has scored more than 90 points six times and 79 or more in 13 games. ...More |
