Evan Fjeld hit a layup with 9.4 seconds left to lift Vermont to a 76-75 victory over Boston University on Tuesday night. Marqus Blakely led the Catamounts (18-8, 9-3 America East Conference) with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Boston U. If you know what's wrong with his Vermont team, you might want to give Mike Lonergan a call. The Catamounts, who looked as if they were emerging as the clear favorites to finally get a league title for star Marqus Blakely, defeated floundering Albany in the final game of January, ending a three-game losing streak that came on the heels of UVM clearly looking like the best team in America East. The Catamounts, coming off home a loss to Stony Brook and a road defeat at Binghamton, lost at New Hampshire before beating Albany, which fell to 1-8 in league play. Before the losing streak, UVM had won 18 of its previous 19 regular-season games in America East and was looking fairly unbeatable.
