For the first time since 2003, Vanderbilt is spending the postseason at home. But with no seniors on the roster, the lapse should be only temporary.

Early losses knocked the Commodores out of contention for an NCAA bid, and when the NIT passed on them, the school decided not to take on the financial obligations of hosting one of the other postseason events.

Thus at 19-12, the Commodores came up one win short of their third consecutive season of at least 20 wins.

Two key stretches played against the Commodores. They lost four games in a row in January after winning seven of their previous eight, and they lost their last two road games, including one to division cellar dweller Georgia, in late February.
