In a season rapidly speeding downhill, one Utah player can at least take pride in achieving an impressive milestone.
Sophomore center David Foster had nine blocked shots during the Utes' home loss to Colorado State on Feb. 3 to set a single-season school mark with 95 blocks.
The old mark was set one year ago by Luke Nevill (92) and Foster, averaging 4.5 blocks per game, will shatter that record. The 7-foot-3 Foster is on pace to have 131 blocks by the end of the regular season as Utah (10-12, 3-5) has eight regular-season games left prior to the start of the Mountain West Conference postseason tournament.
