Texas A&M Corpus-Christi went dancing in the NCAAs three seasons ago with the only coach it knew, then needed a quick fix. The Islanders got one from Perry Clark, who had a resume of dramatic turnarounds at Tulane and Miami (Fla.).

Clark did it again last season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi when the Islanders doubled their nine victories from 2007-2008—the year Clark replaced Ronnie Arrow, whom South Alabama re-hired.

Last year, 6-6 swingman Kevin Palmer led the Islanders to 18 victories. He is one of five returning starters, having led the Southland Conference in scoring at 18.2 points per game and shattered the Islanders' season record for steals mark by 30 with a total of 86.
