      <description><![CDATA[Tulsa basketball coach Doug Wojcik has agreed to a new six-year contract to remain with the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa athletic director Bubba Cunningham said the new deal adds a two-year extension to Wojcik&#39;s previous contract, which now runs through the 2014-15 season. The deal could keep Wojcik at Tulsa until he turns 51 years old.]]></description>

      <description> &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Golden Hurricane were hoping to take a big step forward following the 2008 College Basketball Invitational championship the team won.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;After all, many of the key pieces to that team were returning, and Tulsa felt it could improve enough to move into the NCAA Tournament picture.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;With Jerome Jordan patrolling the paint and Ben Uzoh and Ray Reese on the perimeter, Tulsa had another solid season, finishing second in the Conference USA standings.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;But the NCAA Tournament took only league champion Memphis, so the Golden Hurricane were left to playing in the NIT, a step forward from last year, but not quite the step the team had hoped for.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;A 1-1 record didn't bring the desired result in the tournament either, but it did give the team more postseason...</description>
