Life in the Mid-American Conference this season is rapidly evolving into a replay of a nightmare. The Rockets are going through their own version of the move "Groundhog Day."
A recent home loss to Buffalo—Toledo's 14th consecutive defeat—offered a troubling snapshot of how the Rockets have floundered. When they don't get blown out, they find a way to lose at the end.
In the Buffalo game, the Rockets had freshman G Jake Barnett at the foul line with just under five minutes to play and the game tied at 59. Barnett, normally a very dependable free throw shooter, missed, and Toledo was not heard from again.
The Rockets failed to score again and dropped a 65-59 decision to the Bulls, and Toledo fell to 0-10 in MAC play. ...More |
