Although Kansas continued to cling to its preseason position as the No. 1 team in the nation, Texas was the most impressive Big 12 team through Christmas.
The Longhorns, ranked second while off to an 11-0 start, made a national impression with back-to-back victories against North Carolina and Michigan State, the two finalists in last year's NCAA Tournament. Both triumphs were by double digits, one at Cowboys Stadium and the other in the Erwin Center.
In fact, all of the Longhorns' victories were by double digits. At 11-0, they had posted an average margin of 28.1 points.
