A gradual reclamation from leaner days continues at Texas State, and the Bobcats might be a decent sleeper pick this season. Or maybe not.
Consistency will be crucial for a team with enough talent to match up well in the SLC, even with the loss of its top two scorers and starting point guard.
Several athletic returnees and notable additions could push Texas State to whatever's next in the process.
In the offseason, that included coach Doug Davalos replacing three assistants with a former standout player, a former D-I head coach and one with deep Texas junior-college ties.
