South Carolina may have finished the season on a downer after going one-and-done in both the SEC tournament and the NIT, but overall the Gamecocks more than exceeded expectations after gaining a share of the SEC's Eastern Division crown. The Gamecocks had been picked to finish fifth in the preseason media polling, and only the most optimistic of South Carolina fans could have foreseen a postseason appearance in the making. That has a tendency to put into perspective the disappointment of not getting NCAA consideration after finishing with a 21-10 record.
