Austin and co-runner-up Nicholls State, finished the regular season five games back at 7-9.</p> <p>That mark would have tied Southeastern with Texas State for fifth in the West. For a so-called third-place team, clearly Southeastern didn't keep pace with the lead horses.</p> <p>Unusual circumstances saw Southeastern lose its top scorer, Kevyn Green, who averaged 19.2 points per game at mid-season.
