Griffin was an inspiring player, described by coach Jimmy Tillette as someone who played "with his heart," as quoted in the Birmingham, Ala., News.</p> <p>The Bulldogs are doing their best to move on from the tragedy, all the while build on the momentum they put together in their first season in the Southern Conference. </p> <p>Samford, picked for last in the league, went on to finish third in the North Division and win two games in the Southern Conference Tournament.
