Three years ago, Art Parakhouski arrived in Twin Falls, Idaho, as a shy Belarusian with little to no knowledge of the English language. So his English education was as important as his basketball education in his first two years at the College of Southern Idaho.

Parakhouski quickly learned the language and picked up the nuances of the American style of basketball, and after two years at College of Southern Idaho, earned a scholarship to Radford, where he won Big South player of the year honors his junior year and led the Highlanders to the NCAA tournament.

Radford coach Brad Greenberg said Parakhouski, who averaged 16.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game last season, has only scratched the surface of what he can do.
