Coach Ernie Kent survived the immediate aftermath of the 2008-09 season. But changes came for the Ducks, as you would expect following a 2-16 effort in the Pac-10 Conference.

Kent brought in a new point guard in Malcolm Armstead, a 6-foot, 195-pound sophomore-to-be from Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Fla.

As Armstead arrived, sophomore Kamyron Brown announced he was transferring to another school.

"The thing that impressed me the most about Malcolm was his contagious passion for the game of basketball and his understanding for the point guard position," Kent said. "That passion is going to make everybody around him better."
