Could it be possible that what Thad Matta does best is hurting the Buckeyes the most?

Matta might just be too good of a recruiter for his own good. He has spent the last two seasons trying to recreate the magic of a tremendous freshmen-led run to the national championship game in 2007.

The Buckeyes, though, haven't won an NCAA Tournament game since losing the national championship to Florida two years ago. They have, however, churned out plenty of one-and-done first-round NBA draft picks: Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Daequan Cook and Kosta Koufos. Perhaps B.J. Mullens and William Buford are soon to follow.

Ohio State's season ended with a crushing first-round NCAA Tournament loss to Siena in double-overtime.
