In two years at Northern Illinois, former Colorado coach Ricardo Patton hasn't made much progress in the win column or the power ratings. He inherited a team from Rob Judson that won seven games and finished No. 301 in the RPI. Patton has won a total of 16 games with the Huskies and produced an average RPI of 313.
But it's also fair to believe that Patton's first two seasons served as building blocks for this year. Not only does Northern Illinois welcome back all but one player (part-time starting small forward Sean Smith) from last season's 10-20 campaign, but Colorado transfer Xavier Silas finally becomes eligible to play for the Huskies.
