New Mexico State, the youngest team in the league last season, should have some senior leadership in the 2009-10 season.
To be specific, that would have to come from guard Jonathan Gibson, who is expected to be the only senior on the team. But even Gibson's status was in doubt until the deadline for underclassmen to withdraw from the NBA draft.
Gibson wasn't a serious prospect to get drafted, but that didn't stop him from going through the process and exploring his professional options, whatever they may be. He eventually decided, at the deadline, that coming back and putting on the Aggies uniform was his best choice.
