Louisiana Tech's inside-outside combination of guard Kyle Gibson and center Magnum Rolle is among the best in the WAC.

Question is: What else do the Bulldogs have?

Well, guard Jamel Guyton is the team's third returning starter—he averaged 11.8 points per game last season and was a pest on defense with 47 steals—but then the talent level really appears to drop off.

Tech was the lowest-scoring team in the WAC last season (63.3 points per game), was last in assists with 10.5 per game and was eighth in turnovers at 15.3 per game.

What the Bulldogs need is more scoring punch and a playmaker at point guard.

And this is where DeAndre Brown come in.

Brown is a 5-foot-11, 160-pound transfer from Navarro College in Fort Worth, Texas.
