Mike Ladd scored 18 points and Greg Smith added 16 to lead Fresno State to a 61-51 win over Hawaii on Saturday night. Sylvester Seay had 13 points and seven rebounds while Steven Shepp added 11 points and seven assists for the Bulldogs (12-12, 5-5 Western Athletic Conference). The news just keeps getting worse for Hawaii, which figures to be battling in the next month just to get into the conference tournament.
The Warriors dropped a 61-51 home decision to Fresno State on Feb. 6, even though the Bulldogs were without injured star forward Paul George. Of course, Hawaii was without guard Dwain Williams, again.
Williams had missed five games because of the death of a cousin, and then he missed the Fresno State game because of a team suspension. Williams is averaging 14.0 points per game and has been the team's top 3-point threat. Williams, a transfer from Providence, was suspended for two games earlier this season.
