Joseph Harris was as good as gone.

The Coastal Carolina forward told coach Cliff Ellis that he wanted to pursue a post-graduate degree in nursing, and move on with his life.

Harris, who has already earned his undergraduate degree, looked at transferring to several schools that offered nursing degrees, including Appalachian State.

But in the end, Harris started to explore the workload of going to graduate school while still playing college basketball, and he chose to stay at Coastal to finish out his eligibility.

Harris told Ellis he thought going to grad school full-time while playing Division I basketball was going to be too difficult to navigate. So he'll take a few graduate courses at Coastal while playing one more season.
